It is a challenge for me that the elastic hold are merely strips, rather than being pre-threaded through the holes and attached to make a loop. I find them too short to tie easily into a knot, which often slips right through the hood in the cymbal.
These are very very loud

Mediocre sound from a good company

Looks good. Why doesn't such a good company make their cymbals out of bell metal (78% copper/22% tin) instead of mediocre sounding yellow brass?

I'm a belly dancer, so my musician husband treated me to these amazing Zildjian finger cymbals (belly dancers call them "zills"). Wow! I was using these cheesy metal things, and now I feel first-class. The sound is crisp and clean. I love them them so much that I'm buying some more for my instructor for Christmas.

Are these kartals appropriate for kirtan accompaniment? How large are they?
They should work. The cymbals are 2" across.
