Taylor Guitars introduced V-Class bracing at Winter NAMM 2018. Taylor V-Class bracing replaces the traditional "X" shape with a "V." The two lines of the "V" frame the soundhole, coming to a point at the lower bout. Fanned braces branch out on both sides. This new bracing pattern gives Taylor more control of each guitar top's stiffness and flexibility. The result is better intonation, increased volume and enhanced sustain. V-Class bracing forces the soundwaves to flow out more uniformly from the guitar than traditional X-bracing. Strummed chords sound pure and clean. Out-of-tune notes are gone. Lower notes no longer cancel out the upper register ones. You have never heard acoustic guitar intonation like this before. Taylor's V-Class bracing also optimizes your guitar top's natural projection and vibration values. Bass response is warmer. The improved stiffness cranks up the volume. Notes decay slower. It is a difference you can definitely hear.
Experience the revolutionary V-Class bracing pattern on these four Taylor Grand Auditorium guitars:
Taylor 614ce Guitars
The Taylor 614ce's torrefied Sitka spruce top offers a more well-defined, vintage tone perfectly complemented by the wide frequency range of its solid figured big leaf maple body. Taylor's V-Class bracing boosts the tonal properties of both for an alluring, complex voice. The body also features a Brown Sugar stain.
Taylor 714ce Guitars
A solid Lutz spruce top with V-Class bracing combines with a solid Indian rosewood body to give the 714ce V-Class extra bass response and a richness performers will love. Koa binding, a 3-ring herringbone-style rosette with special maple/black trim, and a Honey Brown shading increase its visual appeal.
Taylor PS14ce Guitars
Taylor's PS14ce Grand Auditorium acoustic/electric guitar pairs West African ebony and reclaimed sinker redwood from California. V-Class bracing gives this visually appealing combination a bolder, more complex tone. The PS14ce's hand-sculpted armrest and Venetian cutaway give it modern comfort and playability. Onboard Taylor Expression System 2 electronics give it plugged-in perfection. It also features an eye-catching paua and pearl fingerboard inlay, as well as paua soundhole rosette and trim.
Taylor 814ce Guitars
Another Sitka spruce and Indian rosewood combination, the all-purpose Taylor 814ce V-Class uses an ultra-thin gloss finish for better resonance and protein glue construction for better energy transmission between the top and back.
Taylor 814ce DLX Guitars
Whether you're a fingerstylist or strummer, the Taylor 814ce Deluxe acoustic/electric will impress with tone magnified by its V-Class-enhanced bracing. Taylor gave it a bevy of appointments, such as pearl fingerboard inlays, maple binding, rosewood top trim, West African ebony bridge and fingerboard, maple radius armrest with rosewood edge trim and more, making it a real stand out guitar.
Taylor 914ce Guitars
Taylor's 914ce Grand Auditorium acoustic/electric guitar combines a Sitka spruce top with an Indian rosewood body. Its V-Class bracing mellows the rosewood's overtones while beefing up the volume and sustain of the Sitka. The Taylor 914ce's beveled ebony armrest and Venetian cutaway make it more ergonomically friendly. Taylor appointed this Grand Auditorium with abalone, pearl, paua, ebony and koa for incredible visual appeal. It also comes with Taylor's respected ES2 pickup system.
Taylor K24ce Guitars
The Taylor K24ce is an all-Hawaiian koa Grand Auditorium acoustic/electric guitar. Koa is naturally beautiful with a sweet warmth. The V-Class bracing enhances its already strong initial attack. It also fixes the sustain problem usually associated with koa. The K24ce's aesthetics include a Spring Vine maple fingerboard inlay, big leaf maple rosette, and maple and West African ebony binding. Like the other models, it uses Taylor ES2 electronics for when you need more presence in the mix.
Taylor K14ce Builder's Edition Guitars
Taylor's Master guitar designer Andy Powers saved the best for the K14ce V-Class Builder's Edition Grand Auditorium acoustic/electric. The Builder's Edition pairs a gorgeous, solid figured Hawaiian koa body to a Sitka spruce top. The top has gone through a torrefaction process for a more vintage tone. The V-Class bracing gives the Sitka more rigidity and enhances its resonance and responsiveness. Taylor tops it all off in a "Silent" satin finish with a Kona burst. The K14ce Builder's Edition has a beveled armrest and cutaway for incredible comfort and accessibility. The paua inlays and edge trim, inlaid purfling and Spring Vine inlay add to its beauty. Taylor's Expression System 2 pickup design lets you plug in with volume, bass and treble controls.
