Martin

Martin celebrates an anniversary, refreshes their Standard Series and introduces new models, including a new signature series this year. First up are the 100th anniversary models of Martin's ukuleles. Harkening back to the heyday of the "ukulele orchestra" craze of the 1920s, there are two models, including a very limited run of ukes made with rare sinker mahogany.

Next, the Standard Series gets a refresh, with Golden Age bracing, a vintage-style neck heel and a comfortable beveled-edge fingerboard. A new Retro Plus line, including a 000E Mahogany Grand Auditorium and DE Mahogany Dreadnought, is added to the upper end of Martin's Road Series, featuring vintage-style appointments and torrified spruce tops.

Martin also will be showing a pair of new signature models from bluegrass phenom Billy Strings. The Billy Strings Signature D-28 is based on his personal pre-war D-28, while the Billy Strings D-X2E is a more accessible, acoustic-electric version with Martin's popular HPL back and sides, and a solid spruce top. Both feature a slightly shorter, 25" scale length for easier playability.

But there’s more. If you’ve ever wanted to emulate Jimmy Page riffing on his iconic electric doubleneck, but, well, you’re an acoustic player, the Martin Grand J-28E Double Neck Acoustic-Electric gives you the chance. This 6- and 12-string combo features a solid spruce top, solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboards and Fishman electronics. A left-handed model is also available.
