Billy Idol and Steve Stevens Inducted into 2026 Rockwalk Class of Legends

Billy Idol and Steve Stevens Inducted into 2026 Rockwalk Class of Legends

Since its founding in 1985, Guitar Center’s world-famous Rockwalk has celebrated—and immortalized in cement—more than 150 artists and industry icons.

On June 23, 2026, we added two more legends: Billy Idol and Steve Stevens.

The induction was meaningful for the Guitar Center team as fans, as well as to the company’s mission of inspiring players to refine their music and aspire to be “future legends.”

Idol and Stevens are already legends, of course, but the duo also represents principles all musicians should support: open and dedicated collaboration, forging an strong and identifiable style, and joyfully committing to creating amazing music that’s true to your personal muse and brand, even as pop culture evolves and changes.

“I’ve had a fantastic time with Steve,” said Idol. “He has made a lot of my crazy ideas come true. You can never really ask for anything more than that. It really is special and incredible, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Steve and I have spent so much of our lives around music shops, trying new things while working hard to perfect our sound, with Guitar Center right at the center of it all. Being inducted into the Rockwalk together feels like a real full-circle moment after all these years of making music side by side.”

Recognizing the creative impacts Guitar Center provides for so many musicians—such as Idol and Stevens’ own “full-circle moment”—inspires CEO Gabe Dalporto and the entire company.

“Rockwalk exists to honor the artists who leave a lasting mark on music culture,” he said. “Billy Idol and Steve Stevens have inspired generations of musicians, created entirely new sounds, and Guitar Center has had the privilege of being part of that journey.”

The Guitar Center Rockwalk ceremony was hosted by Hollywood Walk of Fame inductee, former KROQ Los Angeles deejay, writer, actor, producer and presenter of Sirius XM’s 1st Wave: Classic Alternative, Richard Blade.

“These guys really put new wave music on the map and showed its diversity—everything from synths right through to rock, said Blade.

Stevens was especially honored to join Guitar Center Rockwalk guitarists such as Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Chuck Berry, who he has lauded in articles such as “Ten Guitarists Who Blew My Mind” (musicradar.com) and “Ten Albums That Changed My Life” (Guitar Player).

“It’s humbling to now be amongst this incredible group of musicians on Guitar Center’s Rockwalk,” said Stevens. “More than anything, this is a testament to over 45 years of great laughs, great songs that now belong to the world, and a great friendship.”
