14" A ZILDJIAN FAST CRASH

Zildjian Drum Set Cymbals 101

15" A ZILDJIAN FAST CRASH

16" A ZILDJIAN FAST CRASH

Description
After playing the new A Zildjian Fast Crashes, Matt Sorum of Velvet Revolver commented, "These cymbals have a nice brilliant sound and really jump out at you. They also have a nice attack and decay. They are in the tradition with the As, but a newer, hipper, and more modern version. Zildjian is always trying new ideas and that's a good thing!"

I bought this cymbal to compliment my 14" and 16" fast crashes and it did not disappoint. It is lower in pitch and has a little more sustain which works perfectly as an end to my run on the toms. It also blends in nicely with all my other A Zildjians which are 10" splash 14,16 fast crash 16" china high 13" mastersound hi-hat and 20" crash ride. I've played A Zildjians for over 50 years and always will… thanks for making such great cymbals… Cheers!
if i had the room for it and the spare cash i would

I'm a Zildjian guy. I own other types of cymbals but most are Zildjian. My favorite crash cymbal was a 15" Paper Thin Crash. Unfortunately, I knocked over the cymbal stand and the cymbal hit a hard floor edge first. Paper Thin Crashes are no longer made so I looked for the closest thing I could find - the Fast Crash. I now own a few different sizes. I like the explosive response of these cymbals. When you hit it, the sound is immediate. And this really complements the way I play. I recommend these to anyone who prefers that same quick, explosive response from a crash cymbal.
Not too happy with the sound!

Pros: Short sustain/decay, light and bright. Perfect for most genres. Cons: Sound varies drastically from cymbal to cymbal (of identical type and size), so you don't know what you're getting when you order. I previously had a perfectly matched 16" and 18". The new 16" I received does not quite match my set and I'm still waiting to see how the 18" sounds when GC gets it from Zildjian. Pretty pricey for a sound you're not in love with.
