Purely Subjective
I finally decided to go with the brass. The biggest benefit: They won't break as easily. As far as tonality is concerned, I think it might vary from guitar to guitar. On my acoustic, the pins definitely increased the bass and somewhat alleviated a dead fret problem (F on the 5th string - standard tuning.) On the other hand, the pins robbed some of the highs and quieted the guitar down just a bit. On the whole, I am satisfied with these subtle changes in tone. I'm going to switch from Ivory to brass depending upon the situation. (I mostly use the guitar for recording.)

One of the pins was made incorrectly
One of these pins was made without a groove for the string to fit into. I managed to make it work using that one for the high E string. The pins were a little small for my guitar ( an older Epiphone) and they kept popping out of the holes. I had to wrap one with scotch tape to make it thicker to keep in in the hole. I just put them on yesterday and so still too early to say if they improved my guitar's sound or not.
