The set is well balanced both in terms of harmonic response and playing response. All the way across the dynamic and the frequency spectrum, they are clear and warm, and reliable and predictable in terms of managing dynamics. Scaled to fit 3/4 size bass with a playing length of 41 3/4 inches (1060mm). Medium tension strings are preferred by most players.

    I have not switched out the strings yet to the Kaplans I just purchased yet. I'm debating on flinging it now or waiting a while since I bought my new bass with a new set of Helicores. I prefer the Kaplans over the Helicores. The diameters of the Kaplan is just a little smaller. They are a better fit for my small long fingers and make for easier play. The sound is great and I could not ask for better response from them. They are defiantly my favorite to use.
