Comments about Zildjian K Crash Ride:

If you want to be heard use this cymbal.I love it. It makes a wall of sound that pushes past those marshall stacks.I must warn you if you use this cymbal you will need to play with a monitor if not it can be so loud you won't hear any guitar. It also has good ride qualities like stick definition and a nice bell very versatile cymbal.

Comments about Zildjian K Crash Ride:

I recently traded in a 2 year old 20" Armand ride for the 18" K crash ride. The Armand is a wonderful, classic sounding cymbal. However, in my current playing situation (small, Contemporary Christian group) the wash of the Armand was too... well, "clangy," for lack of a better word. Too much overtone, too flat and harsh. The smaller size K crash ride allows for a still classic yet slightly brighter sound with some tightening of stick definition (not quite as much as a ping or flat ride). This cymbal has a nice crash quality as well ... a definite plus in in a small set up like mine. As other reviews here have noted, the K crash ride can certainly project when you lean into it, but it also speaks softly when approached gently without sacrificing musicality. I've been playing for (drum roll, please) 45 years and have had 4 ride cymbals in that time - a '60s 22" K (made in Istanbul - a monster rock cymbal), a 20" Sabian flat ride, the 20" Armand and now the 18" K crash ride. Today, my money is on the K crash ride.

18" k crash/ride--very versatile

By nate merrill

Comments about Zildjian K Crash Ride:

this cymbal goes very well with my vintage 20" k ride; however, i could omit all other cymbals completely because of the versatility of this cymbal! the ride qualities of it are great, but start to hum a little too much when hit hard, but the bell sounds good. the crash sounds great for a really long john bonham or ringo type crash sound. the decay is slow, but that is exactly what i was looking for and should be what someone who wants a crash ride should be looking for. overall one of the most versatile cymbals I've ever played on.

Comments about Zildjian K Crash Ride:

If you are seriously looking for a ride/main riding crash cymbal, this is definetly for you. I stand by all zildjian k cymbals and this one has given me what i need out of it. I play mostly bar gigs and alot of our music is classic rock. At home i play more metal styled music and this cymbal still surprises me! The bell is pretty good for this being a crash/ride. The crash is very responsive and very loud. You will be heard by all guitar players as i can easily drown everyone out with a crack of this cymbal. The ride is probly the weakest feature in this cymbal but eh its what i payed for. Ive beat this thing to death for about 2 years now and i think it sounds better every day. Super tough and reliable

From a die hard Zildjian guy!

By Keith Young

from Oregon

Comments about Zildjian K Crash Ride:

I was slightly dissapointed in this cymbal. As a crash however, I really liked it! It has a nice dark shimmer with a fairly quick decay. Pairs well with my 17" K dark thin crash. I think it's lacking a little as a primary ride for rock or louder music. It doesn't have the volume or the projection as a ride that I would have liked however it does crash ride decently. I have a feeling it would fit in perfectly in a quieter setting, maybe jazz or chamber music type stuff.
