Warranty Process
Cymbals that show factory defects within two years of their original purchase are eligible for examination at our factory. Zildjian experts will evaluate the damage and issue a replacement cymbal, unless it appears the damage is related to improper use or care.
If you believe your cymbal has a factory defect:
1. Contact Zildjian to obtain a Return Authorization number (RA#), via telephone: 781-871-2200.
2. Indicate the location of the damage on the cymbal with a piece of tape.
3. Make a photocopy of your original numbered and dated sales receipt.
4. Carefully package your cymbal. Include your RA# and the photocopy of your sales receipt in the box.
5. Ship the package to:
Avedis Zildjian Company
RA#

A Cymbal will not be replaced if:
1. It has been misplayed, dropped, played with excessive force or treated abusively.
2. The center hole is worn due to improper stand set-up or abusive play.
3. The cymbal was bought second-hand or used in a lease program.
4. The cymbal has previously been replaced by Zildjian.
5. More than two years have passed since the cymbal was purchased.
Warranty Notes:
• Cost of shipping a damaged cymbal to Zildjian is the customers responsibility.
• Factory evaluations take approximately 4 - 6 weeks.
• Cymbals that do not meet the warranty guidelines will be returned to customer.

I was in need of a top hat after a drummer in the studio took a chunk out of it. The bottom half was unaffected, so I needed a replacement top. So far so good.

Way back in 1982, I bought two of what were considered to be the finest cymbals in the world...the A Zildjian Medium ride and the 14" New Beat Hi hats. I still have and use them both today, and my New Beat Hi Hats are sensitive enough for light jazz, but, on the other end of the spectrum, loud and powerful enough for hard rock and heavy metal, and their durability is also impressive because with Marshalls and Ampegs on either side of me, I hit them...HARD!! And they're up to the task!! The world's finest cymbals are still...ZILDJIAN!!

The entire newly redesigned A line, in this case, the new beats, are just the perfect, all around, versatile hi hats in the industry. They do it all, and give you whatever you put into them. Whether your playing vintage or modern new beats, jazz all the way through to metal, you can never go wrong..BEST hi hats, hands down..
Amazing sound!

I've had the 14" New Beats for a long time and decided to get these for a new sound since they have been the preference of a number of great drummers, past and present. I feel like the 14" one's have a little more mellow tone and variety in their click and are easier to make washy with a nice chick while the 13" ones have a very strong click, a very focused chick and less in regard to washy tones unless you really know how to get them out of them. They're definitely like learning a new instrument entirely but great for a no frills pleasantly cutting metronomic sound that can still create the washier sounds while being more refined. Definitely the choice if you'd like to make a more electronic drum sound from your hats because of their more consistent click even if you don't hit in the exact same spot all the time since the timbre of the 14" version seems to change more if your hits aren't as exact as you'd like.

I have the S-series 14" high hats and the top is starting to crack. Can I buy the A-series New Beat 14 " top and use it with the old bottom piece or should I buy the set?
Keep it as a backup. You should buy the set.submitted6 years ago
