This is a lovely china and one that is beefy in size, but lovely and musical in sound. It cuts through music for great accents but also delivers musicality when played at lower volumes. Definitely recommended

Search is finally over. I have tried many Zildjian chinas over the years and not one has lasted more than a few days on my kit before returning or selling it. My favorite drummers play the Oriental Trash chinas and the A ultra hammered. I bought the 19 Ultra hammered, 18 oriental trash, 17 K China and this one. This A Custom ripped them to pieces in my opinion. The oriental and ultra hammered are much thicker chinas and can take a beating but they're all "Pang" and very little "chaw" with overtones that mud the mix up too much for my ears. The attacks were very shrill and it seemed to take a lot to open them up. This 18" A Custom opens up just like the other As. The alloy has a nice give under the stick and opens up immediately upon a decent stick hit. As soon as you start digging in this thing literally sounds like shattering glass. Absolutely perfect for breakdowns. Cuts through the mix hard and settles down quickly! Highly recommend this for Zildjian fans who also don't favor all the extra overtones some of their chinas seem to offer, and are after that trashy wash. This is the one! Love it!

Won't bother going into detail on quality. Zildjian Custom A's are all I use with my kit. Beautiful, great finish and weight. Only complain...the decay is a little too long. Not sure if the 18 inch would improve that issue. Hopefully after some use, it will settle in. But the sound is right on. This is the China to get for your kit.

This China in my opinion is the baddest china out there yeah its a little pricey but its well worth the money. I love A Customs and this is my first A custom to add to my kit. The china has the most beautiful trashy sound in my opinion buy this china you wont be disappointed

i bought this china used and it was pretty much unused and at first i didn't really like it because it has a lot of layover sound instead of the short crisp sound most chinas are like but after using it for about a week you start to get more of the shorter sharp crisp sound you hear in breakdowns in song so i am very happy over time it just sounds better and better and it looks amazing on the set.
