    This is a much heavier instrument than I expected. The box says 11kg, which is about 24 pounds. Another thing I didn't expect is that the instrument is actually part of the case, so you do need to keep this bulky frame around it at all times. It's nice that the instrument comes with a pair of hard rubber mallets, which produce a really nice sound on the instrument. Although steel is heavier than aluminum, I feel like the sound quality is probably worth it.
