Inspired by the hot-rodded guitars coming from Southern California builders in the 1980s, Yamaha's Pacifica series has always offered major value in great-sounding, incredibly playable guitars. The PAC611 with Wilkinson tremolo bridge adds a new spin to the mix with a Seymour Duncan SP90 in the neck and a coil-splittable SP-14 Custom 5 Trembucker in the bridge position for an exceptional range of tones and a unique look. Additional premium features include locking Grover tuners and Graph Tech nut for stable tuning and richer tone.

For me it was a toss between 611 and 612. No regrets. I got a Dark Red Burst one, and let me tell you - it looks gorgeous! Thinking of swapping SD cover for a metal one, just to match the rest. Had to do a slight intonation fine-tuning, not a biggie. Other than that it's a great guitar, ready to play from the box. Stays in tune, sounds great, no buzz, no issues. One funny note - the 1st string was cut too short, thought it snaped after loosening and retuning, but it just jumped out of the tuner. Obvious for most, but maybe a useful note for someone relatively new: if you hold it on your left knee (like classic guitar), L-shape plug may be better, cause of the input jack location (not like on Fender Strat). #sweepstakes

Read a review and then saw one at GC. The tones are fantastic. Better than many of the higher end guitars I tried side by side with it. The P90 & Humbucker is a GREAT combination. Plenty of chimmy cleans and rhythms. The bridge plenty of snarl and coil splits. I've got a number of higher end guitars but I keep picking this up over and over. The necks is one of the most comfortable necks I've played. The fret edges need some work but aside its as good as it gets. Don't take my word. Try one and you will see for yourself.

does the tremolo send it out of tune, or is it actually good?

That's depends on how much and how hard you use it. It's a good system
