Yamaha
Description
Derived from FS830 which has the solid spruce top and rosewood back/sides, FSX830C has a cutaway body and the electric system. Yamaha's proprietary under-saddle piezo pickup and System66 analog preamp ensure the solid plugged-in performance. The small and thin body is perfect not only for female/young players but for intermediate to upper level finger-picking style players.

Yamaha Scalloped Bracing
This FG has louder and stronger sound in the low- to mid-ranges, thanks to cutting-edge acoustic analysis technology developed by the Yamaha R&D Division. Yamaha’s engineers have achieved this sound by utilizing analysis and simulation to arrive at the best bracing design without depending on tradition or guesswork. This analysis led to the development of a new scalloped bracing pattern, a new and ideal acoustic structure that maintains the durability of the top board while bringing out the most sound the Yamaha FG has to offer.

System66 Preamp/Pickup System
System 66 feature an under-saddle piezo pickup developed by Yamaha. Controls include a 3-band EQ, an adjustable mid-range frequency control, and a precision chromatic tuner for optimum sound tailoring. The system is powered by easy to obtain AA-size batteries that provide a stable power supply for improved sound quality.

Review date; 08/24/2018. Owned since March 2018 and play it several hours a day almost every day. The frets were a little rough but I fixed that easily via school of YouTube. Stays in tune, sounds great, plays very easily. When plugged in the ART pick up and Preamp are fantastic. It is very easy to get a very natural-ish sound plugged in. I was concerned it would have that piezo quack but it really does not. It seams Yamaha put the EQ filters in exactly the right frequencies. I added a strap button between the battery compartment and the neck heel. It did not have one and I don't like attaching a string to the headstock. This is a very comfortable, concert sized body, 25 inch string scale as opposed to most guitars that are 25 & 3/4 inch. The shorter scale make the strings a little looser and easier to play for long time periods. I've been playing and performing for over 30 years. I have other, more expensive guitars but this has been my gigging guitar since purchased in march. It was originally intended to be a practice and spare guitar but the feel and tone is excellent.

Great full rich sound smaller folk guitar. The size makes it perfect for practicing on the couch and chilling. Rosewood gives rich full sound for it's size. No tinny shallow sound. Fret spacing is a little smaller than than a full size but jut takes a little getting use too. Highly recommend.
