Comments about Yamaha A-Series A1R Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is an absolute steal for the price. The tobacco sunburst finish is gorgeous and this is the easiest playing acoustic I've found. I own a Taylor 210E and this plays much better and sounds as good if not better (unplugged at least). I grabbed nearly every high end ($1000+) acoustic off the wall I could find, Taylors, Martins, etc, and this plays as good if not better and the sound quality is so close I couldn't justify spending more. Obviously, build quality is going to be much better on more expensive guitars, but in terms of playability, I have not found anything better. Sound quality is a bit subjective as some prefer brighter like a Taylor or warmer like a Martin, but it's a very nice sounding guitar overall. Quality is great for the price. No real complaints.

Oddly enough, the A1M/Rs play better than the A3s I've tried....not sure why as the A3 is more expensive.

Mine has a slight buzz on the 4th string if I pick really hard, but other than that the action is sublime. One of the most comfortable guitars I've ever used, it's effortless to play. I've played quite a few of these guitars (A1M and the A1Rs) and they are consistently great playing guitars that have the perfect action right out of the box.

The built in tuner works great, the guitar stays in tune very well. The tone knobs are super cheap plastic and my input jack is insanely tight, but other than that I adore this guitar.

I could live with this acoustic for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy with it. I absolutely love it and for the price, I have not found a better option. It beats out a lot of high end guitars. Give one a try!
