The Vater Stretch drum stick comes in classic 5A and 7A models, but longer for extra reach around the kit. Both models feature hickory construction and a small acorn tip for warm cymbal tones. They are great for a variety of drumming applications.

For years I always believed in my heart that the 5A is most versatile stick on the market. Only thing is I never found one that fit me size and length wise. UNTIL NOW!!!! I used the 55aa and power 5a for years. Once I saw there was a 5a stretch that was 16 3/4, I jumped at the chance!!

I bought these in size 7A for several reasons; I like to "collect" different sticks (it's cheap and fun to experiment!), there seems to be a lot of "XL" 5A's and 5B's (or "heavy hitter" sizes) but not many thin and long, and personally I have some 12" Zildjian Recording Hats and 13" Paiste Twenty's that I keep missing! Like the headline, these are exactly what you'd expect them to be; high quality, super straight, weight matched nicely, in the dimensions shown... I have Regal Tip "XL's" and other extra long hickory sticks for comparison, and although i like having this thinner diameter, these get a little "rubbery" when playing with them and it feels like you're almost chasing the stick on the high hat pattern! Due to the length (I guess), they're heavier than most "jazz sticks", and I personally get a little fatigued with the smaller grip but heavier weight. Overall very worthwhile for the times I feel I need them, and a very high quality and unique product at a very fair price!

I have been trying multiple brands and size of sticks for years and am excited to find this .057 diameter by 16 3/4" length stick as a choice in my favorite company, Vater Sticks! Nobody does it better!

  • Amazing reach for a little guy.

I always wanted a longer stick and Vater delivers. Just picked up a pair of 7As and these sticks are great. A little heavier than promark or Firth 7As and to be honest they feel more like 5As but really comfortable. I'm not a little guy, but I can see how a shorter guy could benefit with these. I've been using Vater for years, and the Power 5As have always been my go to stick. But I think I'm gonna stick with these. No complaints.
