I'm really pleased with this bag so far. I have a 14"x24" djembe, with about a 10" base. I was really searching for high-quality, padded bag for my drum. My previous one, a Road Runner, tore at the zipper. From several comments/reviews, I decided against certain products I found online, but this one had strong reviews. My only concern was its size. It's listed as a 12". I found a couple of comments from previous purchasers who'd thankfully measured the bag. I concur that this bag will perfectly fit a 14x24x10 djembe. It's a snug fit, but just right. The handles and straps seem to be strong, as does the zipper. Also, the two side pockets are surpisingly deep; a nice bonus! All in all, I highly recommend this Toca bag. Enjoy, and drum on!

This is a great padded bag. See the older review for measurements. That helped me pick the right size. You can't see it in the picture, but this bag has a carrying handle plus backpack straps with a belly strap. It's everything I wanted and more!
Good product, sturdy.

A Great Case; Take as Many Measurements as You Can

Other than the fact that the straps could use some reinforcement, this is an excellent case with a great deal of padding. Pro tip: I highly recommend that you measure not only the head of your djembe-from barring edge to barring edge-but also the base of your djembe prior to ordering a case for it. My djembe has a wider base than most synthetic drums (such as the Remos) and the base was made even wider when I added a rubber bottom to my drum for protection. In summary, before you order a case, find out as much information regarding the dimensions of your bag as you can. My djembe has a 10in base which fits very snuggly in this case, even though this is the largest size that Toca offers.

After shopping around, I decided to buy the 12" and 13" Toca Pro Djembe Bags, even though the description on this website is rather vague. Here are the actual dimensions of the bags: 12" Djembe Bag- 14" inside diameter at the head 24" tall 13" Djembe Bag- 17" inside diameter at the head 28" tall The 13" bag is huge! I have uploaded photos that will hopefully give you some idea of the actual size of these bags. For reference, the djembe pictured is 14" diameter to the outside of the ring and almost 25" tall. (I also put a cowskin head on it :) but that is a different story.) These bags are well padded and I think they will protect my drums well. These bags also have padded backpack straps as well as a waist strap just in case you decide to take a 10 mile hike with your djembe. So far, the only issue I have is with the zippers. They are actually quite heavy-duty but they have a tendency to stick. I think this has more to do with the construction of the bag. There is actually a layer of webbing to protect the drum head from being damaged by the zipper (amazing, right!?) but I think it's causing the zipper to hang up occasionally. So far, I've used these bags for a dozen or so rehearsals and a handful of gigs but I am sure they are going to last. Overall I would give these bags 6 stars out of 5. They are way beyond what I expected and I'm sure I will have them for years and years. These bags are comparable to bags that cost twice as much. For the price, the quality, and the features, these bags are a great investment for protecting your drums. I highly recommend them.

why does the 12" toca padded djembe bag cost quite a bit more than the 13" bag?
The pricing is set by the manufacturer, so they would be the only ones that know the reason for the price drop. Typically it's if a size or color option has a surplus or they need to clear out the last of them for a new model (probably not the case with this one, since it's just the one size that is lower in price.) More than likely they have a lot of 13" bags they want to clear out a bit.submitted6 years ago

Djembe drum carry case. There are three sizes (13, 12, & 11 inches). What do I measure on my drum in order to order the correct case? Height? Are all cases the same in diameter? I'm new to drums. Please advise. Thx.
The cases are all the same height, but the diameter of the drum head is the part where the lip connects with the head (the part where it slopes down on the edge.) For momre clarification you can give us a call at 866-498-7882 since it's hard to explain via text.submitted7 years ago
