Earlier this year I bought a new Gibson Modern SG. I didn't play it much because I didn't care for the Burstbucker Pros that it came with, especially in split coil mode. Decided to replace them with a set of Saturday Night Specials and they sound great, both in double and single coil mode. Very glad I made the swap.

I put these in a 79 Dean. I liked it But I didn't keep the guitar. Sounded good though. Definitely a 70s rock sound. Did high gain well.
Sounds Great

Slapped a zebra set of these on my Les Paul Standard as a replacement for the Burstbucker Pro's that come on it. They absolutely nail the southern rock and arena rock tones of the mid 70's to early 80's (ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen). But they also excel for clean tones, which my original pups couldn't do well. I would highly recommend.
Considerable upgrade

I bought a PRS Custom 24 SE not too long ago and while I liked the way it played, the stock pickups were uninspiring. I've always wanted to try pickups with an A4 magnet, so when these were released, I decided to give them a shot. I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase. To my ears the A4 is the best of both worlds between the sweetness an A2 and the focus/tightness of an A5 magnet.

HOW WELL WOULD THESE DO WITH DISTORTION FOR SAY...METAL OR MODERN HARD ROCK? I DO PLAY A LOT OF MUSIC LIKE ALIVE N CHAINS, SOUND GARDEN AND DO PLAY METAL LIKE PANTERA, A7X, 36 CRAZYFISTS TO GET INTO THE STYLES I DO FREQUENT ON THE GUITAR.
These humbuckers are made to play with distortion and will sound great
