The Invader (SH-8) METAL

Seymour Duncan

collapse expand iconDescription

The Seymour Duncan SH-8 Invader humbucker pickup set, designed to transform your guitar into a roaring beast of tone. The Invader SH-8 pickups deliver the deepest, heaviest tones a passive pickup can produce. Recommended for punk, garage, thrash, metal and other heavy rock styles that demand high-gain tones, the Invader SH-8 pickups are built for aggressive playing. The SH-8 Invader pickup set is the key to unlocking your guitar's hidden potential for bone-crushing distortion and gain.

Ceramic Magnets and Overwound Coils Provide Power

The secret to the SH-8 Invader's devastating tone lies in its construction. Three ceramic bar magnets and overwound coils work together to produce a wide magnetic field that pumps massive power and gain into your amp. The result is an electrifying, high-output tone with richness and depth that ensures clarity even with extreme distortion. Chords sound massively full-bodied, with a subsonic low end that is balanced by a crunchy, defined treble.

Oversized Pole Pieces Widen the Frequency Spectrum

The SH-8 Invader's metal oxide pole pieces are oversized, expanding the pickup's magnetic field to widen its frequency response. Every note played through the Invader is infused with a thick, dense quality across the tonal spectrum. The pole pieces also provide smooth string-to-string balance, allowing complex chords and riffs to sound evenly full and powerful.

Choose Your Level of Aggression

While the SH-8 Invader bridge pickup delivers maximum output for the heaviest tones, the SH-8 Invader neck pickup is voiced for a bit more warmth and smoothness, with thick, moaning sustain. Used together, the SH-8 Invader set provides a spectrum of tones from thick crunch to roaring distortion. Swap the pickups to instantly change your guitar's voice and playing style.

Built to Last

Hand built in Santa Barbara, California, the SH-8 Invader pickups feature nickel-silver baseplates and are vacuum wax-potted for squeal-free performance. The pickups' durable components and construction ensure that your tone remains consistent and powerful for years of aggressive playing. Unleash the beast in your guitar with the Seymour Duncan SH-8 Invader humbucker pickup set.

They sound great the install was a snap. I had to read through some Seymour Duncan wiring diagrams as well as dimarzio diagrams to get the wiring right. Happy with the sound and feedback and sustain. It brings out the Marshall sound of my amp modeling so really happy with these and planning on stalling them on two other guitars I compared the output to EVO, Sh4 and fluence classic actives.

These a set of these in my brand new Fender Special Run Squier Affinity Tele HH Laurel Black PickGuard with Matching Headstock and it transformed this guitar into something even a boomer would love. The neck pickup is pretty cool too. The TOANZ are luscious and super detailed. Chords SING like no other. Very clear, even with HIGH GAIN. Even cleans are enhanced, from stock. This inexpensive guitar plays and SOUNDS like a real heavy hitter now, son!

Would there be much difference in sound in these pickups and the stock Duncan designed one's that are put in a Jackson soloist HT and playing through a Boss katana MKll 100 watt or any solid state amp in that matter? Is it really worth the swap out time and the money?

I'm sorry but I don't have one to check. In a case like this we recommend having a qualified guitar tech look at the guitar. Pup replacement is often not simple.

It depends on the guitar they are being put in and what kind of work needs to be done to put them in. the best way to find out is to bring the guitar by our tech and see what it will run you.
