Seymour Duncan

Description

The Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Firebird is a cross between a single coil and a humbucker. This pickup is similar to the mini-humbucker, but without the adjustable pole pieces. Just like a vintage Firebird guitar that inspired it, this pickup sounds amazing.

To some, this is craziness, intentionally creating an aged electrical component. But if you're like Seymour Duncan, and you appreciate the personal commitment and hand craftsmanship found in early electric guitars, then you'll want to capture that timeless beauty with an Antiquity pickup.

Bought a new Fender Telecaster at Guitar Center, Overland Park. The telecaster neck pickup has always been the weak link in that guitar, in my opinion. After much research, I decided to drop the Duncan antiquity II Firebird into the neck position. Absolutely amazing! So very glad I did! Duncans are notorious for not being in phase with the Fender stock pickups and some creative wiring was required, however, the results were well worth it. It is an absolutely amazing sound - bright, round and fat, excellent when pushed, and not muddy as Mini humbuckers can be. The Firebird is constructed differently and in a class all by itself.

  • The sound I was looking for.

Transformed my 2016 Gibson Firebird. Stock ceramics I liked but these are on a different level, lovely rich definition. Superb.
