Seymour Duncan APH-2b Alnico II Pro Slash Bridge Humbucker Electric Guitar Bridge Pickup Zebra

i installed this in my 2002 les paul studio. i have three les pauls , a studio a standard and a custom.i felt the 498t pickup that came stock in this guitar was muddy. the slash pickup that i installed transformed this guitar, the clarity and versatility are incredible.

I am a pickup junky I have used a lot of Duncan products but the slash pickups really sound great!the bridge pick up is my favorite I use a vitamin Q cap .47 and some times .22 i believe slash uses a orange drop .22 or something like that. they play a big part in getting the right sound for you it really effects the tone.if you want that great grit and woman tone it does it all Duncan has a winner here a lot of people think why not just git the alnico ii pro well they are a great pick up but the slash pickup is like a little more and if your a tone junky like me you are always looking for a little more and this one goes to 11 !!

If you like harmonic overtones and a rich thick tone, you'll love this. If you like an A2P, but weren't sure about paying Slash some royalties, I'd say that it's worth it. Duncan quality in a rich, trebly pickup that is not ice picky. There may be better boutique pickups out there (Bare Knuckles for instance), but you can buy one of these for about half the price if you catch a sale and they are an excellent choice for that price. I like Gibson BB3 & '57 Classic Plus, but this pickup is better and less expensive.

Got these to replace the stock Alnico II pro's in my slash standard Les Paul. Was fairly impressed with the added bite and was happy that I was able to get ahold of these to get the true slash sound. However...Not too impressed with the neck pickup in this set wasn't "round" enough for me. I so far have found the best neck pickup, for me anyway, is the seymour duncan phat cat in the neck position, phat cats are an awesome set of pickups, like all the good things lumped togeather from a single coil and a humbucker. Back on topic. I appreciate the vintage appointments on these pickups and the purity of sound. Had to make some adjustments to my equipment to get the sound I want because thses definitly pump up the mids and highs but keep the lows at bay. Are they better: mmmm..don't know, louder yes, more articulate, yes but better..I would say if your happy with your stock Alnico II pro's just leave 'em..slash has, on a lot of his guitars. If you have the werewithal get them, defintely for the hard rock/blues sinewy sound, if not? what your running is good...it all starts at your fingers anyway.
