PRS SE NF3 Rosewood Fretboard Electric Guitar Gun Metal Gray

Description
The PRS SE NF3 is a versatile and inspiring guitar designed to bring your riff and lick ideas to life across genres, including rock, blues, country and jazz. At its core are three proprietary Narrowfield DD “S” pickups that deliver a uniquely musical and focused tone. On the playability side, its bolt-on maple neck and Wide Thin profile provide streamlined, effortless PRS feel. Sporting a poplar body and patented PRS tremolo, the SE NF3 is a gig-ready workhorse primed to unleash your creative expression—take the stage and studio with confidence in your sound.

Discover a New Voice With Narrowfield DD "S" Pickups
The real magic of the SE NF3 lies in its trio of Narrowfield DD "S" pickups. Developed by PRS, these specialty pickups combine powerful magnets with a unique “deep dish” (DD) bobbin design to achieve incredible note definition and nuanced harmonic overtones. The mixed magnet/steel pole piece layout maintains tight lows without losing high-end shimmer. Whether it’s crystalline cleans, raunchy rhythms or liquid leads, these pickups project a bold, focused voice that cuts through any mix. The 5-way blade selector gives you instant access to their full range.

Balanced Tone From a Resonant Poplar Body
Complementing the pickups is a poplar body that strikes an ideal balance between warmth and articulation. The solidbody construction enhances resonance and sustain, allowing the Narrowfield pickups to truly shine by capturing the subtleties of your playing—especially in genres where precise articulation is an integral part of the performance and sound. You’ll love how the poplar responds to your technique and truly sings, whether strumming chords or ripping solos. It’s a tonally versatile platform for putting your best tone forward.

Signature PRS Wide Thin Neck and Smooth Playability
One of the hallmarks of PRS guitars is their incredible playability—and the SE NF3 delivers in spades. The bolt-on maple neck features PRS’ beloved Wide Thin profile that’s equally at home for rhythm playing and lead work. The rosewood fretboard boasts a comfortable 10" radius for smooth bending and vibrato, and iconic bird inlays adorn the neck with tasteful PRS style. On top of it all, fret access is a breeze up to the 22nd fret, lending itself to unhindered playing in every register. Each aspect of the neck works in harmony to provide the signature PRS playing experience, inspiring confidence when you’re rocking out and getting lost in intricate melodies.

PRS Hardware Designed for Expressive Performance
Reliable PRS hardware ensures the SE NF3 stays in tune through aggressive string bends and tremolo flutter. The patented PRS molded tremolo delivers tuning stability and buttery smooth action for every manner of pitch manipulation, from gentle vibrato to daring dive bombs. PRS-designed tuners provide precise, responsive tuning, while also minimizing overtones that can dampen your sound. With the SE NF3’s sturdy construction and top-tier components, you can focus on playing instead of fighting your instrument. The included gig bag additionally makes it easy to bring this versatile electric guitar wherever your music takes you.

Switched from Fender Players

Have been playing Fender Players Stratocaster for over 15 years and took a chance on the NF3 based on positive online reviews. Excellent decision. Purchased in December, 2024. The single coil/humbucker voodoo works fantastically well. For the first time in a long time, the sounds I'm getting from my vintage Tonelab SE sound great. Also the fit and finish, white body with ebony fingerboard, are excellent and I'm really enjoying the 25 inch scale length. The tremolo system is extremely smooth and does not throw the tuning out of whack. I can fully recommend this PRS model as great alternative to a Fender Strat.
Better than expected

I walked into my local GC with the intent of purchasing a Fender Player Plus Strat. I just wasn't feeling it. Maybe because of the horrible set up. Then I see this PRS, tried it and it was night and day playability wise. The neck felt way better than the Strat. It was smooth, action low with no buzz. The pickups have their own character which sound great! PRS did a great job with these.

Vibrato returned sharp with use. 20 cents. The nut was cut too deep and the strings would bind. I contacted both PRS and Guitar Center, neither was interested in rectifying the situation with 10 to 15 minutes on a bench with a guitar tech. This guitar sounds great, feels great had a great mass to it, but nobody wanted to stand behind it.
Short honeymoon

I loved the pickups, I loved the feel of the neck, It was a tad heavy and there were some moderately sharp fret ends... In the store, I did not have the vibrato to test out, for those of you who don't know, that is the proper term for what is often referred to as a tremolo... It was with the gigbag and I took it home and popped it in there. This guitar had a horribly cut nut. In the store It was fine because it did stay in tune without the bar being used. After I started to use the bar at home, the guitar would frequently return 20 cents sharp. I contacted PRS and it was a big hassle, to which they did not sound enthused anyway. I also asked Guitar Center San Marcos, California, if they would take care of the bench time it would take to do a little work to unbind the nut (every string was way too deep)... Since the store and the manufacturer didn't want to take care of it, it went back for a refund. It would have been an incredible guitar to be inspired by, but hearing comments from other stores on their YouTube channels, it sounds like the NF3 is an unwanted model that's going to be orphaned by PRS via discontinuance. Another point, this does not sound like any other guitar. Pickup positioning and characteristics make it so this is not going to fill the void of a Strat. Seems like it could have been a great guitar in an arsenal of many instruments.
Another PRS knockout!

I Have the white pearl model with rosewood fretboard. Beautiful looks, a little lighter weight than my Swamp Ash PRS and 509, but loads of sustain. I love the wide flat fretboard, the hum-free single coil sound, and those comfortable body contours. This is my second NF3. The first one had a bad volume pot which didn't let out sound until around 7 on the volume knob and then blasted your ears at 8. Guitar Center took it back and immediately ordered a new one which was delivered a few days later. This one is perfect.

This guitar really stands out to me. It is very rare that I plug in a solid body electric guitar and feel completely satisfied with it but I gotta say, "for me, this guitar checks all the boxes." The pickups are voiced really well with zero 60 cycle hum. This thing plays like a dream and just seems to fit in everywhere. It's not too bright nor too bassy, it's just right. I play a variety of music as a gigging musician and I find this instrument perfectly suited for all styles. It is light weight, easy to play, and has a very familiar feel, like your favorite jacket. I have to give props to PRS for pushing innovation and value to create this wonderful instrument. I would buy this guitar again and again.
