This bass has far exceeded my expectations.
I picked up the EZ bass at my local GC store and instantly fell in love with the easy playing-rich sounding goodness. The strings are nylon core so the tension is very low and easy to play. This bass is addicting! I thought I would use it mostly around the house sketching out ideas, paying it while watching TV.. But I took it out on a gig as a back up for the GS Mini bass I have been playing and the results were very surprising. During the first break I puled out the Mitchell EZ bass and played the second set. After the second set I was showered with complements on my sound, the singer and the guitar player both commented that the new bass was a huge improvement to the sound of the band. The preamp/eq on the bass sounds like it is tuned just right for fundamental frequencies of my bass notes, so it blends much better and everyone can hear the notes I'm playing without having to turn up the amp. Last night I set up a mic in my studio to record some bass parts (7/8 fusion). This bass sounds so unique, it has a beautiful acoustic bark similar to an old carved top upright bass, Of course you wont get the bloom and string growl but if you play into it a little harder it produces a controllable string buzz which adds another level of detail that I found interesting and useful. This bass shines when playing legato style melodies on the upper frets. I doubled a vocal part with the EZ bass, using a slow lateral left to right vibrato like you would use on a classical guitar, the sound was absolutely unique and beautiful. Don't be fooled by the low price tag..This is an inspiring musical tool that is super fun and useful.

Absolutely unplayable -- and I'm done with Guitar Center
This instrument is completely unacceptable. Horrible string noise and rattle on all four strings; each string has a different tone and level than the others, and the first string goes completely dead when played up the frets. It's possible it could be redeemed by a proper setup, but it's unlikely, and I'm not going to gamble 20 or 30 bucks on a setup that's unlikely to give me the instrument I paid for.

I bought this to practice what I'm learning from the materials I have at my disposal. I opted for an acoustic to eliminate having to use my electric bass at night when my family is trying to get their sleep. This bass does have an auto-tuner built in which is a plus. After a couple of practice sessions it needs to be re-tuned.

FOR THE PRICE THIS MINI ACOUSTIC BASS IS EXCELLENT. I TRIED OUT EVERY MINI ACOUSTIC/UKE BASS IN STORE AND THIS ONE HAD THE BEST TONE, LOW BASS AND OVERALL BALANCED SOUND FOR THE MONEY. THE BUILT IN TUNER ISN'T THE GREATEST, BUT THE OVERALL FIT, FINISH AND BUILD QUALITY IS GREAT!
SUPER FUN ans SUPER COOL!!

I'm actually have played guitar for close to 30 years and I've always been curious about the bass. This smaller bass is 100% what I want or need. It can be taken anywhere, plays really well, and sounds better than I ever expected!! Five stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I bought a Cordoba MH-E online because it was on sale and ended up hating it. Finally went to a GC store and compared 7 other mini basses. This was the loudest acoustically and sounded the best when plugged into a PA System / Amp. The Nylon Core Strings this comes with are incredible.

Comfortable action. Reliable tuning machines. Solid intonation. Pre-amp & EQ sound good. Accurate built-in tuner. All the other mini basses under $400 sounded like toys, and intonated terribly. My other recommendation is the Guild Jumbo Junior. Prettier, but costs twice.
