Introducing the Remastered X Series

Martin

collapse expand iconDescription

The Martin Guitar X Series DX1E left-handed dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar struts an iconic body shape with robust, balanced tone. Its Koa-pattern high-pressure laminate (HPL) top, back and sides offer the look of exotic wood with added resilience. Lightweight yet road-ready, the DX1E lets you take the stage with confidence. Martin shaped the Performing Artist neck profile on the DX1E for hours of comfortable left-handed playing. Plug in its built-in Martin E-1 electronics, with chromatic tuner, whenever you want to amplify your acoustic tone. The DX1E dreadnought comes with a protective gig bag for safe transport between gigs.

Classic Dreadnought Body Produces Full, Balanced Tone

The DX1E dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar carries over a century of innovation in its bold body lines. With its wide lower bout and sloping shoulders, the iconic dreadnought shape yields a balanced tonal spectrum rich in bass, mids and clear treble. Whether flatpicking or fingerpicking, the DX1E dreadnought projects a bold, dynamic voice perfect for the stage. Its larger size also provides greater sustain than smaller-bodied acoustics. Play blues, folk, rock or country on the DX1E and let its classic dreadnought voice shine.

Figured Koa-Pattern HPL Construction Adds Durability

The Martin DX1E utilizes high-pressure laminate for its top, back and sides. While it looks like exotic Koa wood, the HPL build lends added resilience to the guitar. The layered construction makes the DX1E more rigid for enhanced volume and sustain. Compared to all-solid wood, it's also less prone to cracking and warping from changes in temperature and humidity. Whether gigging far from home or busking local venues, you can rely on the road-ready durability of the DX1E's HPL top, back and sides.

Performing Artist Neck Profile Offers Comfort

Martin shaped the DX1E's neck with stage performance in mind. The Performing Artist profile features a slimmer taper along its width for left-handed playing comfort. A smoother feel enhances fast runs and complex chording over extended practice or gigging sessions. The fingerboard also utilizes a flatter 16" radius for low, even action from nut to body joint. Combined with a thinner fingerboard, the PA neck lets your left hand move freely. The slim 1-3/4" nut width adds space between strings for accurate fingering.

Built-in Electronics Let You Plug in

When you need amplified sound, simply plug into the DX1E's onboard Martin E-1 electronics. The E-1 system includes a built-in chromatic tuner for quick tuning before performances. Its preamp gives you convenient volume, tone and phase controls right on the guitar. Turn up the DX1E to blend with drums and other instruments. Shape your tone from sparkling treble to robust bass. With the E-1 system, you can easily go from acoustic singer-songwriter vibe to plugged-in jam sessions.
