Description
The Meinl Byzance cymbal produces a low-pitched sound, yet with very nice washy overtones. Warm and full-bodied stick response with a soft buttery feel. Huge spread with a long sustain.

The Byzance Jazz Series from Meinl features authentic jazz cymbals. They are handmade in Turkey, and are B20 bronze alloy cymbals. If you are looking for the super thin buttery feel of true vintage cymbals this is it. The sound is not too loud or too bright but just what you need for a traditional jazz setting.

I use this in my jazz band, rock band, and in recordings. I find it to be very versatile. It's dry and has great stick definition, my favorite aspect though is the wash... long and trashy, just how I like it;) if your looking for a cymbal that's quick and gets out of the way, probably not the best answer, this cymbal makes its presence and speaks with confidence. It is very crashable but you can't dig into it too hard when crashing or else it gets a bit out of line but maybe that's what your looking for. Highly recommend this beautiful cymbal, did I mention it's beautiful?
