I needed to connect another mic to my PA where all the XLR inputs are already in use. I wish I had instead ordered a similar device that ALSO has built-in impedance matching circuitry, because dynamic mics are low-E (balanced) and instruments are high-E (line), an imbalance that causes a great loss in signal strength and sound quality. If you need one of these this is a good one. Just be certain that is is what you really need.

Maybe as soon as I get one useable.

Unfortunately it came defective. Cable had several kinks. Guitar center customer service sent a new no hassles. Thank you guitar center.

    It's a cable and it works. Not too expensive. Used it for an overdub session in my basement studio. I sat at my Neve 8424 and plugged the headphones directly into the console. With this extension they could wear headphones across the room in the vocal booth (a few baffles) I had set up.
