Shaped exactly the same as my original AH, but different metal composition

In the late 70's I was given a gift from the trumpet player in my father's band: A Jet Tone Al Hirt mouthpiece. It was gold plated aluminum and was so dramatically better for lead trumpet than my standard 7C that it soon became the only mouthpiece I used. Over my high school and college years it took quite a beating... but I never let it go. Recently I've taken the trumpet back up and decided to give this AH reissue a try. I'm happy to say that it has quickly become my daily "go to" mouthpiece. From a shape perspective it is identical to my original. Thus, it feels the same to my embouchure. It also plays *almost* identically to the original... so close that I'm rating it 5 stars. But, it's not ~exactly~ the same because it's made of a heavier metal (I won't guess at what kind) than my original gold plated aluminum piece. The aluminum, besides being obviously lighter is just a tad bit brighter... and warms up considerably faster. Honestly I was hoping for another aluminum model due to the familiarity, but I'm very happy with this one and the sound for all intents and purposes is the same as the original. There are a lot of mouthpieces out there and which one is best for you is something you have to discover on your own. But, if you're looking for a replacement for a fantastic AH vintage mouthpiece, this is it.
