Ibanez Iceman IC420FM Electric Guitar - Transparent Blue Gradation

Description
The Ibanez IC420FM electric guitar carries forward the bold identity that has defined the Iceman since its debut in the late 1970s. Known for its dramatic lines and unmistakable silhouette, this modern Iceman model pairs a flamed maple top with an okoume body to produce a bright, solid tone with strong sustain. A set-in okoume neck and 24.75" scale length give the guitar a familiar, responsive feel, while a bound jatoba fingerboard with 22 medium frets supports accurate, controlled playing. Outfitted with Super 80 humbuckers and a classic 2-volume, 2-tone control layout with a 3-way selector, the IC420FM stays true to the Iceman’s heritage while remaining fully at home on modern stages and in the studio.
Super 80 Pickups With a Signature Sound
The IC420FM is loaded with a pair of Super 80 humbuckers, instantly recognizable by their iconic “Flying Finger” engraved covers. These pickups deliver a bright, clean tone with tight low end and crisp highs, making them well suited for both articulate rhythm parts and expressive lead work. Their clear response allows subtle playing dynamics to come through, while still offering enough punch for more driven tones.
Gibraltar Performer Bridge for Sustain and Stability
The Gibraltar Performer bridge is designed to enhance sustain while maintaining reliable tuning stability. Its low-positioned saddles provide a comfortable feel under the picking hand, and the solid construction helps transfer string vibration efficiently into the body. This bridge design supports confident playing across a wide range of techniques, from steady chord work to more expressive bends.
Quik Change III Tailpiece for Easy Restringing
The Quik Change III tailpiece makes restringing fast and straightforward, allowing strings to be secured quickly without unnecessary hassle. This practical feature is especially useful for players who perform regularly or change strings often, helping reduce downtime and keep the guitar ready to play.
Flamed Maple and Okoume Construction
A flamed maple top adds visual depth and character, while the okoume body contributes to the guitar’s bright, solid tonal foundation. The set-in okoume neck enhances sustain and creates a smooth transition across the neck, and the bound jatoba fingerboard offers a rich midrange with a crisp high end. Together, these materials deliver consistency in both tone and feel.
An Iconic Iceman Built for Today
The IC420FM reflects the long-standing role of the Iceman in Ibanez history, blending its storied design with dependable modern construction. Supplied with an Ibanez gig bag, it’s well suited for players who want an instrument that stands out visually while delivering clarity, sustain, and reliable performance for live shows and recording sessions alike.

Awesome Guitar

Since my beloved 70s era Ice man was stolen back in 1998, I've longed for Ibanez to re-issue a QUALITY iceman. This is it. Since I got this guitar over the summer, it's all I've played. The pick ups are really hot, and really warm. It's got a fatter tone than my last one did. The clarity and tone, the gain, and sustain are great. The neck is really well balanced with no dead spots. The frets are very precise. I have a PRS custom 22 and, of course, it's on an entirely different level. But the fun I have diving into the nostalgia of having this guitar in my hands and that has made it impossible for me to play anything else. I just love the look and style of this guitar, and I'm very happy with the quality of this re-issue. I don't think that it's a perfect metal ax, nowhere on the level of my PRS. But it's a great, fun guitar to play, and an awesome practice instrument and I would absolutely gig with it if I didn't have a PRS that is unmatched in quality at the top of the lineup.
An incredible value!

An original Ibanez IC200 was my first real nice guitar as a teen. I don't remember that instrument playing as well as this one does. It is amazing! The pickups sound even better than I recall! It's beautiful. You will not regret purchasing one!
