Ibanez

collapse expand iconDescription

The Ibanez Iceman flamed maple electric guitar brings together the best of form and function. Drawing inspiration from the legendary Iceman design first introduced in the late 1970s, this guitar combines smooth playability with versatile sound. Its flamed maple top over an okoume body not only looks fantastic, but produces a bright, focused tone perfect for the stage. Players will appreciate the comfort of the okoume neck and jatoba fingerboard. Medium frets enhance your accuracy while the slim profile allows for speedy riffing up and down the neck. When it comes to sound, the Iceman's Super 80 pickups equip you with a crisp, clean tone that works well for rock, blues, jazz or funk. The Gibraltar Performer bridge provides rock-solid tuning stability and excellent sustain, while the Quik Change III tailpiece enables fast and simple string changes. Top it all off with the included Ibanez gig bag for protection and you have a stylish, road-ready guitar ready to bring your music to life.

Inspired by an Iconic Design

The dramatic Iceman body shape is one of Ibanez's most recognizable guitar silhouettes. First introduced in the late 1970s, its smooth contours and pointed edges became synonymous with artistic creativity and bold musical expression. This Iceman carries on that legacy, featuring a gorgeous flamed maple top over an okoume body. The flamed maple has an eye-catching wood grain pattern, while the resonant okoume produces a focused tone. Together, they give you excellent sustain and articulation to make the most of your playing technique.

Smooth Playability for Comfort and Speed

Once you get your hands on the Iceman's neck, you'll appreciate how comfortable it feels. It's made from okoume wood, which has a smooth, fast feel that encourages you to play with speed and precision. Jatoba, used for the fingerboard, has a tight woodgrain that brings out each note with clarity. The medium frets are an ideal size to enhance your accuracy when moving from chord shapes to single-note runs. An adjustable truss rod allows you to fine-tune the relief so you can set it up just the way you like.

Versatile Pickups Deliver a Bright, Articulate Tone

When it comes to sound, the Iceman equips you with versatile Super 80 pickups. They have an iconic "Flying Finger" engraving on their chrome covers. But more importantly, these pickups deliver a crisp, articulate tone across the tonal spectrum. You get excellent definition for chord voicings and a focused attack for lead lines. Whether you need warm, rounded tones for jazz or an aggressive bite for metal, the Super 80s allow you to shape your sound. Dial in just the right EQ at the amp and you can make this guitar sing.

Stable Tuning and Sustain for Reliable Performance

The Iceman's hardware provides rock-solid tuning stability and excellent sustain. The Gibraltar Performer bridge has individual saddles for each string so you can accurately set up the intonation. String vibration transfers smoothly into the body. The Quik Change III tailpiece allows fast string changes, an important feature for gigging musicians who break strings mid-set. Together with its comfortable playability and versatile pickups, the Iceman gives you an inspiring instrument ready for any stage or studio.

Since my beloved 70s era Ice man was stolen back in 1998, I've longed for Ibanez to re-issue a QUALITY iceman. This is it. Since I got this guitar over the summer, it's all I've played. The pick ups are really hot, and really warm. It's got a fatter tone than my last one did. The clarity and tone, the gain, and sustain are great. The neck is really well balanced with no dead spots. The frets are very precise. I have a PRS custom 22 and, of course, it's on an entirely different level. But the fun I have diving into the nostalgia of having this guitar in my hands and that has made it impossible for me to play anything else. I just love the look and style of this guitar, and I'm very happy with the quality of this re-issue. I don't think that it's a perfect metal ax, nowhere on the level of my PRS. But it's a great, fun guitar to play, and an awesome practice instrument and I would absolutely gig with it if I didn't have a PRS that is unmatched in quality at the top of the lineup.

An original Ibanez IC200 was my first real nice guitar as a teen. I don't remember that instrument playing as well as this one does. It is amazing! The pickups sound even better than I recall! It's beautiful. You will not regret purchasing one!
