With standard string trees, I don't find it uncommon to hear pings and pops from strings getting caught up on the string trees. I have never once had this issue when using Tusq XL string trees, and I find they help with tuning stability. Additionally, and this is more of a personal preference and is instrument dependent, I often prefer the look as well over standard bent steel string trees. There isn't much else to be said about string trees, but these are my top choice when I need string trees on an instrument, and have used these on several guitars.

The string guide on my Fender Acoustasonic would do a less than stellar job. I would have to pick the strings at the guard to get rid of the "plinky" sound from the way it would grab the string. This tree never causes such a problem. The graphite is far superior to the steel. The B and E strings are guided and sound the way they should. Super easy to install.

  • Good buy.

my only suggestion/complaint: with the black TUSQ string tree the screws that come with it should be black. it looks weird with regular chrome screws and awesomr with black screws other than that nitpick I swear by my GraphTech stuff and this is no different
