Gibson Custom Murphy Lab Les Paul Special Double-Cut Figured Top Electric Guitar Bourbon Burst
Description
The Gibson Custom Murphy Lab Les Paul Special double-cut figured maple top Ultra Heavy Aged electric guitar brings to life the classic vibe and sound of a 1959 Les Paul Standard. Crafted with a solid mahogany body and adorned with a stunning figured maple cap, this guitar offers a sound that's both warm and articulate, rich in clarity. Its Ultra Heavy Aged nitrocellulose finish has been meticulously distressed, presenting a truly authentic patina reminiscent of a cherished '59 Burst. Equipped with Custombuckers, this guitar replicates the iconic tone of the original P.A.F. humbuckers, but with an enhanced output and sharper definition, bridging the gap between vintage soul and modern clarity.
Iconic Design, Vintage Appeal
The Murphy Lab Les Paul Special double-cut figured maple top pays tribute to the most revered electric guitar in music history. Its mahogany body, arched maple top and dual cutaways provide the familiar look and feel of a vintage Standard. The nitrocellulose finish is carefully aged to mimic 60 years of wear, tear and oxidation. From a distance, you might mistake it for an actual 1959 Burst.
Resonant Tonewoods
A solid mahogany body and figured maple top give this Murphy Lab Les Paul Special double-cut electric guitar a balanced, articulate tone. Mahogany produces warmth and depth, while maple adds clarity and definition. The maple top is carefully carved and fitted to the mahogany body, allowing the woods to vibrate as one. The result is a resonant, harmonically rich voice that sings on clean settings and roars under high gain.
P.A.F.-Inspired Pickups
Custombuckers provide the tone of original PAF humbuckers with some modern enhancements. The bridge pickup delivers tight lows, crunchy mids and singing highs, perfect for everything from blues to rock. The neck pickup produces warm, rounded tones ideal for jazz, fusion and cleans. With the 3-way toggle switch in the middle position, both pickups combine for a complex, strident tone that cuts through a mix.
Playability and Components
An ABR-1 bridge and stopbar tailpiece anchor the strings and provide excellent sustain and tuning stability. The neck has a rounded C profile that fits comfortably in your hand. 22 frets grant access to higher registers. CTS potentiometers and bumble bee capacitors are premium parts selected for their consistency and durability.

I wanted to find these guitars without the aging . & not the red Rick Beatto model ive had that one . I wanted TV yellow or the yellow one ive seen in the LP Standard. or the Pelham Blue, .Ince had a Non-reverse Firebird one of the Finestplaying Gibsons ive owned . It had a neck similar to The 70s Walnut ES-335 beautiful nut sized neck. 1st. Of all I can't afford the $8,000. Price tag 2nd. The ruining the finish of a lacquered finish is ridiculous to me . I prefer to polish my guitars, in fact I polished 3 of my Guitars yesterday. Lp Standard , SG.JR & SG Special & then played 4 of my no 5 of my guitars no 6 & my fingers are nice & calloused.
