Description

The Gibson Custom Shop M2M Murphy Lab 1959 Les Paul Standard Ultra Light Aged electric guitar provides an authentic vintage playing experience. Crafted with a highly figured maple top and mahogany body, it looks and sounds like an original '59 Les Paul. The nitrocellulose finish has been lightly aged by Murphy Lab for a touch of character and historic charm. A pair of Custombucker humbucking pickups deliver the warm, rounded tone of Gibson's legendary PAF humbuckers from the era.

Authentic 1959 Design

With its arched maple top, mahogany body and vintage sunburst finish, this Les Paul looks like it came straight out of 1959. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish has been expertly aged by Murphy Lab using a specialized process to mimic the natural wear and patina of a well-loved vintage instrument. From its gold hardware to its historic truss rod cover, no detail has been overlooked in recreating the aesthetics of a prized '59 Les Paul.

Custombucker Humbuckers

The M2M Murphy Lab 1959 Les Paul Standard is equipped with a pair of Custombucker humbucking pickups that provide the smooth, articulate tone of original PAF humbuckers. The neck pickup delivers a warm, rounded tone with balanced highs for rhythm playing. The bridge pickup has an aggressive midrange and crisp highs for solos and lead work. Custombucker pickups give this reissue Les Paul the classic voice of the most desirable vintage Les Pauls from the late '50s and early '60s.

    I've always wanted a purple LP, and once I saw and played this one, new I had to have it. The R9 is my favorite LP, and this one looks and sounds amazing and plays great. I love the ultra light aged finish, as I don't stress out about putting a scratch or ding on it.

    I picked this up and it's been about a week. It's the loudest unplugged solid body I have ever played and it translates through my entire rig! Absolutely beautiful sounding and plays like a dream!
