    The bags were to be used for taiko drums but I needed 18" diameter and 22" length. This bag is the other way around.

    My kick drum is 20 inch diameter by 18 inch deep. What size bag do I need for this drum. I ordered a 20 inch by 18 inch bag and the drum would not fit in it. My hard case is 20 x 18 and the drum fits perfectly .

    Soft drum bags (unlike hard cases) are usually measured by the intended drum size, not the internal dimensions. But because soft bags have padding, stitching, and sometimes shrink a bit, a "20x18" bag might actually be slightly smaller inside than a "true" 20" diameter and 18" depth. That's why your hard case fits but your soft bag doesn't. For a 20x18 kick drum, you should probably get a 22x18 bag (or a 20x20 bag if available.
