Built like a tank

I recently needed to upgrade from a 4 space rack case to 6 for my bass rig. After hearing that the quality on the recent SKB cases has gone down, I listened to a few reviews and decided to go with the Gator. I was a little skeptical, as I have a very expensive amp that I want to be sure is well protected, as well as my other gear. I felt a big relief as I opened the box and pulled out this case. This thing looks like it was built to last. Solid construction, great looks and even came with a bag of rack screws.

Good but Bad

This case works fine as far as protecting my touring rack gear, but the handles SUCK!!! The handle clearance makes it almost impossible to carry. The handles aren't deep enough for anyone to get their hand around it. It forces you to have to carry the rack with just your fingers, which is ridiculously difficult (especially if you use all 6U). Extremely Poor Design! I really wish someone would make a Short 6U rolling rack. This doesn't exist unless you get one custom made. Neither does an inexpensive short (12") sliding rack shelf for these short cases.

They use a thin piece of sheet metal to hold the screws rather than building it into the case so when you go to rack gear it is near impossible. Neither a musician or an engineer designed this case. it is garbage!!!!

Exactly what I needed. Especially like the way you can stand it up without it becoming unstable.

All racks are 19" wide. Is your unit 19" deep?
