The Delrin Freedom Finger Picks are made of Delrin, an extremely strong material that provides a very soft and natural sound on the strings. Simply slip it over your own fingers to give yourself a consistent affect when fingerpicking. Best of all, you can size them to your fingers by putting them in hot water for about 20 seconds to get an even better form. They can even be filed! If you happen to lose a nail, these picks will be your saving grace. Choose from Large, Medium, and Small and 24pcs. or 3pcs. in the drop down menu.

Nearest thing to real nails!

They are more like prosthetic nails than finger picks. They can be custom shaped to your fingers by warming them in hot water, putting them in place, then chilling in cool water. They also have a basic shape. Like all finger pickers know, the manicure is important too. Meaning that I reshaped the edge to give a better connection with the strings that considered my hand position as well as the nail shape. After all of that, I rate them a 10. That's because I have never been able to grow good enough nails for fingerstyle guitar. For years I have used the German silver picks that banjo and dobro players use. With these, it's like a real nail. I can play harmonics, I can feel the strings with my fingertips, and after fitting they are very comfortable. Of course, if you can grow suitable nails, these would be unnecessary. If you can't these are really worth a try!

They are too small and hot water doesn't do a thing!

This is a great idea and these picks are great. My problem with them is the largest ones are too small and very uncomfortable. I tried hot water but that did nothing. I will have to try almost boiling water to see if that does the trick. If it does, I would change my comment and rating! My rating would change to a 5 star!

I bought small, medium and large sizes to find ideal fit. I like a snug fit, but not cutting off circulation. Smells were definitely too tight, but I put them in hot water for a while and then fit to my finer for decent fit but still a bit too tight. Same with mediums (not very moldable with hot water). Large size was perfect out of the package. For reference, I'm 5-11 and wear a size 10.5 to 11 on ring finger.

  • No but because I can't quite get the sound I'm after.

I ordered the large, but when they arrived they were much too small for my fingers. However, through previous review comments, I knew that (being a type of plastic) the size could be altered. I took rigid rubber washers with a screen for a faucet on them, and pushed them into the picks until they appeared the right size for my fingers. I then poured water into a pot with a steamer basket (did not want the picks to rest on the bottom where the flame heat could melt them), heated the water to boiling and put the picks into the water for around 5 to 6 minutes. I then took them out to cool, leaving the washers in them. When they cooled, I removed the washers and the picks remained in the enlarged state, and then fit my fingers perfectly!

Any size should work but I would recommend trying the medium gauge in this case.
