Works well on the Gretsch G5260

I like to tune my Gretsch G5260 to Bass VI tuning and these strings work great for it. Just enough tension on the low E and less tension on the high E (All other sets put way too much tension on that string for some reason). The strings in between are solid too. I sometimes have to go the custom route for my VIs, but for my Gretsch, these are just right.

Great for short scale basses or to turn baritone guitars into Bass VI E to E tuning. These strings will not work for long scale basses! That is not what they were made for.

High e string unraveled during the initial install and tuning. This seems to happen on every package of EB strings I buy. Bass VI strings aren't easy to come by, but it's worth looking for others and paying more for them.
Convert your Baritone Jazzmaster into a Bass VI with these.

These strings are too short for the real Bass VI because it has a tremolo bridge. BUT, these strings are great for converting non tremolo bridge baritones into Bass VI's!

When I read the reviews for these strings before I bought them all the reviews had 1 thing in common...THEY ARE TOO SHORT! All I can say is: it pay's to know your equipment. I bought them for a 60's model Telestar micro bass and they fit like they should! micro-scale, short-scale, 3/4 scale, full scale...If you don't know what you are buying the strings for walk into Guitar Center AND ask for help! If you do that you will get the right strings!

I am not sure what bass these strings are meant for but the E string was about an inch too short at least. didn't even bother unwrapping the rest of them. just boxed them up and sent them back. wish there was an app that actually told you what strings fit was bass guitars.

what is the actual length of these strings. The description does not list that nor do any of the negative reviews that complain that they were too short.
The scale length is: 29-5/8"
