Brilliant and Crisp! Pure delight!

These strings have a bright punchy sound while slappin and poppin. You can get one mean growl from them too. These Earthwood Acoustic Bass strings have such playability to them, I am tempted to try them out on my 78 Fender P-Bass. I can't believe how effortless they are to play to get the precise sound you want from them. I've been a GHS user and abuser for most of my playing years and I have used Ernie Ball strings in the past, but nothing else they produce sound as fine as these strings. I'll probably never string my Electric/Acoustic Bass with anything else unless I hear rave reviews about another brand with a new product line targeted towards Electric Acoustic Bass Players. These Ernie Ball Earthwood bass strings are the best acoustic bass string I have played to date.

The name belies a metallic sound

I replaced the original D'Addario EXPs on my Breedlove acoustic bass. I'm still experimenting with different strings, and I liked the name, "Earthwood," thinking I'd get a warm, woody tone for the acoustic bass. However, I find these to be metallic sounding, not nearly as warm and rich as my original strings. I've had them on the bass long enough to mellow out now, but still not a very warm tone.

These are a second set that I buy for an Ibanez Acoustic Bass. I do enjoy these strings and I do recommend them.

I record and practice so having reliable strings for backup is necessary.

I've got an electric base guitar with 6 string. What do you think I should get? The best for the smaller price.

These are not the right strings, these are for acoustic basses - not electric
