The Standard for a reason

When you typically enter a recording, practice, jam session, simply pull your "Emergency Pick" from your pocket or wallet to try out an instrument at Guitar Center or just ask any employee if they have one you can use, 9 times out of 10 I notice it's usually a Dunlop Tortex guitar pick. That's because they have everything you need in a pick. Tortex picks come in a wide range of widths - between super-flexible .50mm reds for strumming 12-string chords to ultra-thick 1.14 purples that as a bassist I've been using when I've needed a pick my entire career, Dunlop has had you covered. I'm sure neither Store Employees or purchasers ever know their widths - Dunlop has them perfectly arraigned by color so that all you have to ask for is "A pack of blues". Add to that the Tortex material which increases its grip as you sweat onstage as well as accommodates your muscle memory and molds to the position you play in, There's simply no other flatpick to choose.

don't work for me

I hate to be a party pooper, but I found these picks to be pretty much the opposite of most reviews. I find them slippery to hold onto, and sticky on the strings when picking. The 88mm have a nice mellow tone for strumming (thus the 3 stars), but I prefer a pick that is sticky to hold onto, and slipperyp on the strings. I can pick with much more articulation and speed with a standard nylon, and hold onto it no problem. I wish the opposite was true as I do like the tone of tortex when strumming!

    If your into Rock from 80s to today! Any distortion at all! This should be your first pick for the first 5 years atleast. Yes it it is gonna seem more difficult. But get use to it now! Your gonna end up here anyway.

    Excellent picks. Makes most types of playing possible and easier. Easy to dig into the strings and extraordinarily flexible to be able to strum, sweep palm mute, play polyrhymia, shredding, alternate picking and so on. Great for also playing acoustic guitar.

    How long has Dunlop been using the color/ thickness determination? I use Jazz lll for electric guitar which is too thick for acoustic. Back in the early 90's I used a green tortex for acoustic. Will the new picks be the same thickness as the green ones I used in the past?
