Loved this from the first pick on my mandolin. Quiet and lets the instrument do the singing. #sweepstakes

  • Primetones are as good as the seriously expensive picks

I use these for flat picking and the tone they help me produce is really nice. It is somewhat subdued sounding compared to the thinner primetone tear drop style ones. Still very nice tone which I like. A friend gave me a blue chip which is also nice but these are at least 85% if not even closer to the tone I get from the blue chip. Will buy again - next time I may be trying the ones with the grip to them as sometimes I have lost a handle on these.

Simply put, Primetones make picking easier. Technique seems at first to take a micro-jump that you can feel, and it's yours to push from there. The hand-burnished and angled edges make a real, discernable difference.

As a relative novice, I am exploring different picks. True to their reviews, the Duotones offer a more mellow sound and help my entry-level mandolin sound much better. That encourages me to stick with it!

So far as I see these are as good as those much more expensive.

I like the thickness and shape of the pick as it allows me to adapt to solo or backup as necessary
