Must Have These!

I have used these for a while on most of the electric guitars that I have and think they are great. Installation was simple using nothing more than a power screwdriver and a small wrench. Once installed these strap locks are simple to use and have never failed. I have the chrome locks and have never had a problem with tarnishing. I would highly recommend this item to everyone who has an electric guitar, for the price they can't be beat.

Not the best...

They're okay. The problem isn't in the quality, but the screw. It's bigger than your average screw, so you have to drill a hole in your guitar. I find that this strips the wood, and can, in some cases with softer woods, cause the lock to fail. Not bad, if you like it that's fine, but I personally wouldn't recommend it.

    I have Dunlop StrapLoks and all my electric guitars and I like them a lot. They're very sturdy and stable and simple to install and use. I do prefer the dual-design version (which has a larger shoulder on the button to make using it with a conventional strap more secure) but the original version also works quite well.

    Can these strap locks replace the strap pins on an acoustic Martin DS guitar, and would I need to have a technician do this?

    No, it won't work. Since the strap pin on a Martin would be a pin that's pushed in, but the strap lock is held in with a screw.
