This violin was awful. The fingerboard was so far down from the bridge that the action was very difficult. The pegs wouldn't hold so it wouldn't stay tuned, and the bow that came with it wouldn't rosin. I was looking for a basic violin to carry around and play on a whim and I ended up returning this one. The only pro I would say is that the actual violin is very attractive, but as violins are meant to play the attractiveness of it means nothing if you can't play it.

I'm so thankful for this violin. It has been a real blessing to me. This violin is constructed from quality materials. Some violins may look flashier, with antiquing and whatnot, but this violin has everything you need, especially if later on you invest in more expensive strings and a more expensive bow.

  • I would buy it again .

Is this a good violin to start on for beginners? If not, could you possibly recommend any others?

Cremona Violins are my go-to when I need to recommend an instrument for a student. A close second would be Bellafina.
