The Alesis Nitro MAX Expanded electronic drum set delivers the realistic playing experience of the original 8-piece Nitro MAX e-kit, expanded with an extra 8" tom and 10" cymbal pad for a full 10-piece rig. Featuring 32 different kits from the renowned BFD drum sample library, the Nitro Max offers seamless play along with music streaming services via Bluetooth and a host of built-in learning features.

Nitro Max offers everything you need to learn or improve drumming skills, and to get good—fast. Premium mesh heads offer a responsive, enjoyable playing experience with minimal external noise, so you can practice whenever you like. A wide range of ultra-realistic drum sounds provide a truly immersive drumming experience, whatever your style of music. And a host of different learning tools help you practice and improve your timing and playing. Plus, you can seamlessly play along with your favorite tracks from Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming services via Bluetooth connectivity.

Ultra-Quiet, Super-Responsive Alesis Mesh Drumheads

With the tightly woven premium mesh heads on the Nitro Max, there’s no need to worry about late-night practice sessions disturbing neighbors or family members, no matter how energetic the playing gets. There’s a large 10" snare pad for ultimate playability, and (4) 8" tom pads. The kick drum pad has a large surface area that plays great with the included kick pedal. And for cymbals there are (2) 10" crash cymbals with choke, a 10" ride, and a 10" hi-hat with foot controller.

Built-In Premium Drum Sounds From BFD

The Nitro Max offers over 440 professionally recorded drum sounds from the industry leader BFD. Each sound has been carefully recorded, mixed and produced to provide rich timbral detail and expressive articulation. There are 32 classic and modern ready-to-play kits to choose from, which you can easily tweak using the backlit screen. You can also create and store 16 of your own kits. Connect the Nitro Max to a PC or Mac via USB and you can unlock an extra premium sound pack via BFD Player and explore an ever-expanding world of sounds.

    Yes, you can use a double kick pedal if: You're using a standard mechanical double kick pedal with the single kick pad. You position both beaters to hit the single kick drum pad accurately. You accept some potential crosstalk or triggering issues at fast speeds or very tight beater spacing. Limitations to be aware of: Single zone kick pad: The Nitro Max only has one kick pad, so both beaters must hit the same surface, which can be cramped and affect playability at higher speeds. Trigger sensitivity: The module and pad may not register ultra-fast double bass strokes perfectly—some fast strokes might get dropped. Feel & rebound: Electronic kick pads usually feel different than acoustic bass drums, and playing speed may be affected depending on the pedal and pad response.

    The drum kits are listed by numbers. Knowing nothing about drums, I don't know what kit to select. Is there any description of what the number represents, in terms of drum kits? (Listed is classic and modern - but I don't know what this actually means). Is there a good generic starter drum kit to select, or is that the first one?

    1) The "numbers" are the number of preset kits. 2) It doesn't mean anything. Classic and modern would be the era of music. It's just a sales term. 3) This is a good starter.
