This Alesis Nitro Max Expansion Pack adds an 8" tom pad and 10" cymbal pad to an existing Nitro Max electronic drum kit, integrating seamlessly into the module.     This works great for my surge mesh set. The clamps it comes with doesn't work on 1.5" racks. I was able to pry them open to get them to fit. But, I had to use other nuts and bolts to be able to tighten them. So for the nitro mesh sets I bet these are great! But for the surge or command sets, you have to work a little bit to get them to fit.

    I use this as my add on to my practice kit, works well and even comes with cables which i thought i would have to buy Separately, would be nice if the cymbal was a little bigger, but works well for just practicing. don't expect this to be s high end cymbal at this price point. over all very happy with the tom and cymbal

    1) Yes, it is. 2) The sound is in the module, not the trigger.
