This doesn't really regard the ptrumpet

I ordered the ptrumpet as an inexpensive way to learn a new instrument. The product came in quickly and seems to be undamaged but was once again in a box full of holes and what looked like it had been punted to the door. I have to say, this is why I don't buy from guitar center anymore.
Ok but not outstanding first impression

I'll be reasonable and not try to compare this to a multi-thousand dollar Bach Strad or other pro level horn. GC had this listed under "intermediate trumpets" but I would definitely call it a beginner trumpet. I'm not a pro player mind you, but I'm experienced enough to give this a fair review and call it like it is. Its ok but not outstanding, at least my sample of one. Construction actually feels pretty good. I had a fair idea of what to expect having watched many videos and it feels just as I thought it would. Very light so it's easy to hold up. The valves are obviously much chunkier feeling than a traditional trumpet but it's not uncomfortable to hold. Speaking of valves, I'm happy to say they feel good and seem to be working as they should. No sticky valves out of the box and I'm in no rush to sparingly use valve oil as is said in the provided care instructions to not be necessary anyway. I do like the design of having the valve block lower than the tubing leading to the bell because it does help teach proper finger placement. All slides move easily, though the main tuning slide is the only one long enough to really worry about adjusting. The tone. Well, it could well be partly me, could be partly my example of this instrument, but it felt a little difficult to not get an airy sound even as high as middle C. I tried feeling around for a leak and I definitely checked the spit valve, but I haven't found any leaks or other construction flaws. Like I said, it could be me and seeing as I just got the horn today, I want to be fair and not totally trash ptrumpets for that. Maybe I can update this review later on. Anything on the staff felt and sounded just fine though I didn't feel it played high off the staff as easily as my brass trumpets. Again, for now at least, I'm not going to totally trash talk it for that. For now at least, I can only give this an ok review and say I my recommendation of it increases the better the same price you get it at.

My trumpet research is for a 5 year old girl. Would this plastic one be easier for her to manage?
This plastic trumpet would be easier to manage and be a good choice for a 5 year old to start learning on.
