Description

Introducing the all-in-one eMedia My Violin Starter Pack. This Pack is perfect for beginners with everything you need to play the violin: a quality violin with bow and carrying case, plus rosin and cloth. What's more, it includes a great teacher - the new award-winning eMedia My Violin CD-ROM (for Windows & Mac computers).

The eMedia My Violin interactive educational software is what sets this violin Pack apart from all the others. An animated character named Val the Violin guides students through over 160 lessons, teaching them the core elements of violin playing. Authored and demonstrated by professional violinist Sabina Skalar, M.M., the method is great for beginners of any age.

eMedia My Violin teaches with the help of videos and live recordings of songs. An animated fingerboard shows correct placement for fingers as the music plays, and MIDI tracks let you adjust the speed. My Violins revolutionary new Finger Tracker actually listens to your violin playing and shows whether your fingers are placed correctly, and how to adjust them. Colorful MIDI accompaniments make practicing fun. Additional valuable software tools such as an automatic tuner, metronome and digital recorder are also included.

eMedia My Violin first covers such basics as proper violin, hand and finger position, the elements of correct bowing technique, how to tune the instrument, and play rhythmic tunes. It continues on with popular songs and an introduction to reading music notation. All throughout, it is interspersed with interactive games that make learning fun and easy.

The instrument itself has a spruce top with maple back and sides. Other parts are of dyed hardwood with a metal alloy, four tuner tailpiece. The violin has been meticulously set-up and packed in a protective cloth. The bridge is in place, the strings are loosened for shipping. The bow is made of wood, and rosin for the bow is included. The sturdy carrying case has light foam padding as well as a handle and shoulder strap.

The violin comes in 3 different sizes to accommodate various ages: 1/8 size (usually for ages 5-6), 1/4 size (usually for ages 7-8) and 4/4 full size (usually for ages 12 & up through adult).

The eMedia My Violin Pack is the perfect way to introduce children or anyone young at heart to playing violin!

Not bad!

Got it as a Christmas present for my son. Other than the broken string it had when it arrived (which my son had no problem repairing) he likes it very much. Thanx, folks!

Gift was a Hit but Not Impressed with Customer Service

This was a Christmas gift for our daughter and when she opened it on Christmas she was unable to play it because the string was broke off the instrument. She was excited to get it but that quickly turned to disappointment when she realized it came to us broken. Then, after we took it to the store we were charged $11 to fix something that arrived to us broken. Not cool...why should the customer be charged for receiving a faulty product? We paid to purchase the violin and fix the violin all before being able to even use it. I think that's horrible customer satisfaction!

I bought this for my 7 year-old daughter who really wants to be the next Lindsay Stirling lol. She's determined to learn and the program was very good for the ultimate beginner, especially a young child. The program comes an auto tuner, metronome and recorder, which is great! The violin itself is satisfactory and has a nice sound. The only thing is that the tuning pegs didn't seem to hold very well and I had to retune the strings several times during the first session. I'm hoping this does improve over time, as it seemed to hold ok after a half hour or so of playing through the lessons. Overall it's a great starter violin and she loves it. The case is really nice, and so are all of the accessories and extra strings it came with.

Been a dream to play violin. Within a few days I've been able to pick up some of the basics. Definitely recommend avoiding tuning too sharp the strings as this is NOT analogous with tuning strings on a guitar (violin strings will break under far less tension)

I bought this gift for my grandson for Christmas. I didn't open the box prior to Christmas morning and when he opened it Christmas morning thinking Santa had brought it to him. The strings are either off or laying in the box, the bridge was missing. Thus resulting in my grandson not being able to even play with it on Christmas morning. I am very upset that it arrived in such poor condition. So now we have to take it back and try to get the problems resolved. Try explaining that to a 7 year old who thought Santa would bring him what he asked for.

I do not recommend this product, it does not stay tuned, as soon as you run the bow across the string you have to stop and re tune it. It was dropped one time and it hit a corner and cracked all the way around, I bought the warranty so it was covered. Pay a little more and get a better one..

  • Great first violin

Do not buy, I have waited a while for it and when I got it the violin was in pieces the strings weren't even connected to it. The scroll also popps out there are no instructions on how to assemble it. I hope to return this as soon as possible.Does not come with shoulder pad also.
