Description
High-resolution 24-bit/96 kHz audio delivers studio-quality recording, no matter where you’re filming. And the camera’s built-in X/Y microphones can handle sound pressure levels up to 120 dB SPL, for distortion-free recording. The Q2n can handle high sound pressure levels without distortion or clipping.
Ten Scene presets allow you to record in a wide range of environments, including low-light. The presets range from “Concert Light,” which automatically adjusts for changing lighting conditions to ‘Concert Lo-Lit’ for dimly lit rooms. And there are scene settings tailored specifically for filming in jazz clubs and rehearsal studios, as well as outdoors.
The Q2n features a 160-degree wide-angle lens that captures stunning video. And it records in 720p or 1080p HD resolution, using the same 24 fps or 30 fps frame rate used in film. An F2.0 aperture makes the Q2n perfect for musicians who perform in a wide variety of lighting environments. Capture the full band or focus on an individual performer using five field of view (FOV) settings.

Great for capturing live gigs.
I am a freelance drummer and I've used the Q2n to record my live performances and rehearsal sessions in multiple settings. It is remarkably easy to use and the quality of the recordings is fantastic for such a reasonably priced recorder. I do highly recommend using the AD-17 power adapter as the device does chew through batteries pretty quick. I also recommend getting the Zoom APQ-2n Accessory Pack for the microphone adapter, wind screen and lens cap, especially if you are looking to go mobile with the device.

Viewfinder is way too small and picture is grainy
I'm going to upgrade to the q8. This might be good for a small room, but in a bigger room, you can't tell what you are shooting. I bought this just to get reference footage to review rehearsals and gigs, and even with those expectations, this isn't the camera for me. Picture was very grainy in every mode. Sound was really true to the room and the auto gain function adjusted well.

Youtube camera. If your reading this, just get it. Price first of all. So I know your doing research cause every penny counts. Ill save you time. The only thing thats negative really is the screen and there might be a way to bypass that. All the other features are worth the clearance price and if you can ask for open box. The more stuff not with the box the more you can take off. Still come with 45 day return. Cant beat that.
Pretty nice so far!

one star because I cant give it a lower rating. Almost any other video camera would be better than this. Video is very grainy in every scene mode.

Excellent sound. Excellent digital image. The camera excels with the setup at close range and not very good quality if set on a tripod 10-15 feet away from performers. Great value and versitility. Recommend highly for performers..
