Good depending on your situation.
Personally I was looking for more of a rock style set of cymbals and that's what I was expecting from a beginning set of cymbals. Some simple diverse rock sounding cymbals. But what I got was a set of decent jazz cymbals. They're good quality and feel really nice to play but I simply was unsatisfied with the sounds.

Very Nice Set for Beginners

Hardware in general, Zildjian ZBT's and A's. I tried to use Yamaha hardware where I could but eventually wound up with a mix of Yamaha, PDP/DW and Gibraltar. Details are noted below and in the pics. After purchasing the initial shell pack, I had the Yamaha 680W hardware kit and Zildjian ZBT cymbals. The hardware package was awesome but I soon remembered the space issues as a kid. Floor space can only support so many tripods. A rack system was the way to go. All of these things functioned as designed flawlessly. The ZBTs are a great beginner cymbal line. They are inexpensive and provide a very good sound for the money. Now as you play more, the undertones of the ZBT's become more and more noticeable. This may be fine for a beginner but not for me. I wanted that true '80s rock and roll sound. After listening to dozens of vendor cymbal comparisons, I wound up watching a video from Zildjian where a guy was playing the same beat as the cymbal lines were rotated. For the money and sound I was looking for, the " 'As " were what I needed. 😊 done!! More on the 'ZBTs. I saw several reviews saying they were poor cymbals. I did not find this to be true but I also had more recent versions of the ZBT line – look at the logo and cymbals themselves. Yes they are B8 and yes they have a harsher sound than more expensive cymbal lines but that is to be expected – these are starter / beginner cymbals by design. Also I saw reports of people cracking cymbals. Poor sound and breaking cymbals is not an issue with Zildjian craftsmanship. The cymbal must first be struck properly (Zildjian video to show you that) and it must be allowed to move when struck. This movement prevents breaking the cymbal and it allows the cymbal to resonate properly. Loosen the wingnut holding it in place or trim the felt a bit to allow proper movement. 😊
Dont regret buying ,for the money u can't beat m

On a budget. These will work. 20 Ride got a nice ping. 14 crash sounds real close to a s series 16 crash is fair. Over all not bad.

I had some Zildjians years ago in my teen drumming years, So I do have some experience with them. These new ZBT Pros blow away what I used to have in all aspects. The 14" hats are very responsive and the 20" ride is great too along with the 2 crash cymbals. For the cost I paid I feel like I stole these. Thanks Guitar Center for the BEST deal this holiday season. I LOVE EM!!!!!
