Zildjian

Description

Zildjian's Kerope series is a testament to the brand's enduring commitment to excellence, and the Kerope 20" thin high ride cymbal is no exception. This reimagined masterpiece breathes new life into the legendary Turkish K sound, revered by drummers for decades. With tones reminiscent of vintage intermediate stamp K cymbals, the Kerope series revives the sought-after warmth, complexity, and expressiveness that made the originals so beloved. This cymbal delivers a rich sonic character that resonates deeply with drummers searching for that elusive "old K" sound—offering an instrument that feels like a relic of the past but is perfectly suited for today's diverse musical styles.

Unparalleled Craftsmanship and Meticulous Artistry

The level of craftsmanship behind the Kerope 20" thin high ride is truly exceptional. Every cymbal undergoes a meticulous a hammering process, shaping the bow with over four times the hammering applied to a K Constantinople. This dedication to detail mirrors the old-world techniques used to create the original K series in the mid-20th century. Additionally, the deep pin lathing process ensures a bold stick definition while enhancing brushwork dynamics. A unique waxing process refines the surface texture, and a rigorous sound-testing procedure ensures that each cymbal achieves the legendary Kerope tonality—making every piece a work of percussive art.

A Ride Cymbal That Inspires Effortless Expression

The Kerope 20" thin high ride cymbal offers drummers an unrivaled level of touch and control, immediately inspiring creative expression behind the kit. It responds with a clear, articulate stick attack, seamlessly blending with its complex wash to create a perfect balance of articulation and sustain. When crashed, it produces a warm and dynamic explosion of dark textures, making it an ideal ride that also serves as a crash alternative. Whether played in an intimate jazz setting or within a dynamic rock ensemble, the Kerope ride's ability to adapt to different playing styles makes it an indispensable tool for any drummer seeking sonic versatility.

Authentic Design With a Signature of Legacy

Beyond its sonic brilliance, the Kerope 20" thin high ride boasts a design rooted in tradition. One of its most distinctive features is the signature in the bell—bearing the name of Craigie Zildjian, a tribute to the brand's storied legacy and leadership. This is the only cymbal in Zildjian's catalog to carry her signature, reinforcing the significance of the Kerope series within the company's history. Combined with its etched Zildjian logo, the cymbal not only sounds like a timeless classic but visually embodies the craftsmanship and heritage that have defined Zildjian for centuries.

A Timeless Sound for Today's Drummers

For drummers who have long pursued the iconic K sound, the Kerope 20" thin high ride is the answer. Its higher fundamental pitch, warm complexity, and clear stick articulation make it a dream ride that delivers both control and expressiveness. Whether providing intricate brushwork in a jazz ensemble or delivering lush, dark crashes in an orchestral setting, this cymbal sits comfortably under the drummer's hands, responding with unprecedented touch and nuance. As a modern recreation of an age-old sound, the Kerope ride is more than just a cymbal—it's a gateway to a sonic tradition cherished by generations of drummers.
