These sticks are by far the BEST pair ive ever used! The weight isnt really a bad thing because it makes the sticks very balanced and responsive. The wood is very consistent, so every stick feels about the same, which is not the case for a standard hickory stick. This makes it very easy to play very fast and dynamicly. The wood itself is very durable, but there is one HUGE setback: the tips gets damaged very easily. It could be as little as an accidental hit on the edge of a cymbal and the tip will slowly wither away. After a couple of days or weeks later the tips would be so damaged that they would begin to dent my drumheads, so i would need to change sticks pretty reguarly. If zildjian made this model with nylon tips, then i would use them. Another problem not specificaly with these sticks is that the ink fades away after the first day. If zildjian could change the ink with a stronger ink then that would be top.

I always wanted a very heavy pair with a 5a/5b diameter, and this is a dream come true! I have mostly used this at home, and i've used the same pair for the last two months! I mostly play dream theater stuff, and i found our that these sticks have the same specs as Mike manginis old signature sticks. Each stick weighs around 85 grams, and they smell Nice! The only things i can complain about is that they where hard to get from my location (Norway), and they are a bit pricey. Overall, i recommend these sticks.
