  • Great ride for rock

Quality is superb. I've had this 22" Ping for about 6 or 7 years now. It's been through a couple hundred gigs and countless woodshedding hours and has held up flawlessly. It's perfect for rock. It's a heavy ride, but not as heavy as a Rock Ride or Earth Ride; I couldn't imagine someone wanting a ride heavier than this one. I've had problems with my right hand going slightly numb during long gigs from vibration transfer through the stick from this ride. I'm hoping that buying a lighter ride cymbal will help to alleviate this issue. It has a very distinct "ping", and can cut through those half-stacks with ease. The bell also will penetrate the mix with a crystal clear ping. Slap the bell with the shank and look out-it's loud! Great stick definition-very little wash.It has a very low pitch wash, not good for crashing on. I would not recommend it for jazz, but for rock and heavier music it's perfect.

This is the greatest ride cymbal I have owned and probably will own I got it afew days ago and it takes after the name, it has a very bright ping sound with minimal overtones I have this ride because it has a cutting bell that could cut through a million guitars if it had to and i love it! But then there is the ride which has a higher pitched sound and it sounds awesome! It has a tiny bit of similarity to K series, K custom , and A custom!!!

I have the 22'' ping ride, and it is a perfect cymbal. My old ride had a horrible wash, and when I first played a ping ride, I new it was the answer to my problem. No matter how hard you crash on it, you still get great stick definition, and riding on it defines its name. You get a much louder and clearer "ting" on this than any other ride, and while a bit quiet, the bell is very good too. A very versatile ridethat fits with my playing. Definately check this out!!!

  • Great ride for distinct sticking

This Avedis Ping Ride is my only ride. I prefer a more distinct sound and this cymbal delivers nicely. It has a pretty mellow wash that develops as you ride it. Normal ride sticking gives a clear pingy sound, but despite being a "ping" ride, it has a relatively weak bell unless you really smack it with the shank. I play mostly fusion and funk so I appreciate the more subtle sounds of this ride and prefer it over most the medium and rock rides out there. For some jazz players it may sound a little too heavy if you like a mellow washy ride.

  • One of the cleanest sounding ride.

If you like a clean, resposive ride this is it. Whether your riding the ping or the bell, it will cut through the music and give a very defined sound. I play this cymbal as hard as I play my Custom Z rock cymbals and it can take the pounding. Highly recommend for the heavy hitters.
