Built-in stereo speakers provide full, rich tone so you can compose or perform anytime, anywhere without cables or connections. When silent playing is preferred, simply plug in headphones.
Iconic Vintage Sounds and Effects
The reface CP's sounds and effects transport you back to the golden age of electric pianos. Choose from tine, reed, clavi and Yamaha CP80 electric grand piano sounds, then add drive, modulation, delay or reverb with the turn of a knob. Dial up hard-edged distortion or warm, natural overdrive. Add shimmering chorus or swirling phaser modulation. Create echoing rhythmic delays or cavernous reverb ambience. The sonic possibilities are as limitless as your imagination.
Explore an Endless Sound Palette
State-of-the-art WebMIDI technology connects the reface CP to online synthesizers, allowing you to browse, select and sync an ever-expanding catalog of keyboard sounds. Search by instrument type, genre, mood and more to discover new sonic inspiration. Once you find a sound you like, a single button press transfers it to your keyboard. The reface CP puts a world of sounds at your fingertips to ignite your creativity.

Great Fun, Small Package
I have had my eye on the Reface models for quite some time and considered the CP first, but got the DX instead because I thought the number of sounds was too limited. After owning a DX for a little while, I found myself with two banks of nothing but my attempt at a Rhodes sound on the DX. The DX sounded nice for what it does, but I was thankfully able to exchange it for the CP... Now, about the CP... This thing is fun! Small... yes. Garbage internal speakers... yes. Limited sound selection... (sort-of). The unit has 6 sounds, five of which I use (I don't use toy). The Rhodes sound incredible and extremely expressive and dynamic by themselves, but once you start adding in some effects, it really does open up another pallet of sounds. I now see why guitarists are constantly changing their effects around. It is fun, especially the delay section. I now understand why delay is a staple in their effect rigs. Compared to the DX, the effects on the CP are of much higher quality and sound much more lush and rich. The Wurlitzer sound on this unit is by far the best I have ever heard on any keyboard I have played. The CP sound is the closest thing this unit has to a piano sound. It is powerful and has a compressed tone that cuts through nicely. A truly unique sound by itself. Back to the effects, it is surprising just how much the sound can be shaped with them. They really do sound good, much better than the two effect blocks on the DX, especially the reverb. Overall I am very satisfied and would definitely replace it if it were lost or stolen.

Good looking but flimsy
Bag doesn't really have decent padding/protection for keyboard. It's a nice looking bag with Yamaha logo on it. It's meant to be left standing because it has rubber feet on the bottom. The Decksaber Reface plastic cover fits on the keyboard inside this bag. Don't stack things on it!

I love the Reface CP. Yamaha really outdid themselves on this one. I used to have a Wurly (Wurlitzer) electric piano & the Reface CP has a Wurly that brings those memories rushing back. The clav is incredibly funky (especially when you manipulate the settings for the wah effect). The smaller keys do not make it difficult to play, either. With the effects, I have been able to go from vintage to futuristic just by playing with the knobs while playing. What I love even more is it's portability. With on-board speakers, I can take it with me on vacation to sow the seeds of creativity without being too loud (or plug in headphones). I also ordered the case for easy travel. Will use this in the studio & on stage as well.

Adds depth to recordings Perfect couch toy Great as a MIDI controller Has all of my favorite electro-mechanical piano sounds. There isn't a way to dial a bad tone on any of the effects. 6 batteries seems like a lot, but wireless is a game changer.
